Location. Positioned in the North Georgia Mountains on the shores of Lake Chatuge is The Ridges Resort and Club in Hiawassee, Ga. This rustic style property on 7,500 acres is within 15 miles of the Cherokee Historical Museum and less than 16 miles from Moccasin Creek State Park.
Hotel Features. Complimentary breakfasts are provided by the property and Sequoyah boasts fine dining and an array of choice wines. The Old Hiawassee Grille serves regional favorites and features a Sunday Champagne brunch, while The Cherokee Grill offers sandwiches, salads and appetizers overlooking the golf course. The Yacht Club features a Tiki Bar, casual dining and live music on the patio during summers. Tree studded southern Appalachian Mountains border a championship 18 hole golf course. More than one mile of walking trails surround the property, which features scenic gardens and an Audubon listed wildlife sanctuary. The Ridges Resort Marina provides boat slips along with boat and watercraft rentals. Shopping is available, as is an exercise facility and hot tubs. Amenities include tennis courts, an outdoor pool and a playground for children.
Guestrooms. Boasting lakefront or mountain views from private patios or balconies, guestrooms host carved, walnut finished furnishings, upholstered armchairs and ottomans, complementary fabrics in contrasting prints and d�cor in rich, earth toned hues. Each includes cable television, dial up Internet access and coffeemakers.
Expert Tip. Wedding planners are available at the property, which features an array of ceremony and reception options including the Lakeside Lawn, Lakeside Pavilion, Red Banks Ridge and the Fireside Room.
